Windows using more system memory for disk caching(vfat). The network server uses a whopping 40k! LOL! So I'm sure you have enough memory to use it. You can find all the info you need about tweaking win9x at:Quote:

When I read the title of this post, I figured it would be about computer architecture, so your message comfuses me. In Windows 9x, I don't know of any hard drive atributes that allow your computer differentiate between a desktop and server. In Windows NT, you have the option of chaging your hard drive's file system to NTFS vs. the FAT16/32 file system of Windows 9x, if that's what you mean. Is that what you mean?Quote:

hes talking about the "typical role of this computer." Using the server type increases the cache management i think, but it does boot performance. Ive been trying to find this in win2k, but no luck. Mabee the 2 roles are in win2k Pro and win2k server seperate?Quote:

who said you cant game on a notebook????
I know what you are talking about. It simply means that Windows caches more frequently used data to the hdd and ram. Speeds up performance slightly

When Can I overclock a terahertz cpu?
While I'm not certain what the actual differences are between the two settings, I'm confident that installing CahceMan is a better choice than either one.
