Right but posts serve a purpose to the community. By limiting PM you are not hurting the community at all because if people hit their limit they can just delete them if needed.Quote:

There is a 1,000 character limit on a PM message.
If you want to save your PMs why not archive them on your own machine. I sure would hate to lose the feature because it was consuming too much server space.
Archive or delete your PMs after you have read them and responded. Don't forget to do the same with the Sent Messages folder as well.
From the vBulletin control panel:
Maximum saved messages
Maximum number of saved messages a user can have. 0 means unlimited
So yes, the number of messages that can be saved can be limited. You'll get a "full" message when the limit is met.
From the FAQ section here: You will need to periodically delete old messages, as the administrator has probably set a limit to the number of private messages you can have in your folders. If you exceed the number of messages specified by the administrator, you will not be able to send or receive new messages until you delete some old messages.
