O.k. this seams a bit interesting but can anyone say DAoC? It sounds identical. If it is it will bomb because DAoC was ok but it got old fast. I don't know the regular console single player FF was great. I don't see why it has to become and MMORPG. It just goes against everything that FF is. Ow well I can't really judge it until it comes out. I'm very skepticle about this game though.

Goes against everything FF is? On what grounds? Square and FF is know for pushing the envelope and remaking RPG's as we know it. This game will rock. And considering the power of MMORPG's and Square has, this game will do nething but fail.

I hope they release an PC version of FFX. BTW, how much are Square charging for the FFXI. If they weren't stupid, they wouldn't of have made the movie since they lost so many money off that and Sony bought 20% of them so FFXI is probably being charged premimum since they need to get money going around.

It goes against FF because, FF are and have always been Japaneese style RPG's, which are less of an RPG and more of a Story with stats, I love the FF games and have played and completed every single one (FF7 & 9 are teh best by far ;) ), a MMORPG is more of the traditional style RPG, less story more stats, exploring and player interaction, something Square have NEVER done before.... it's either gonna blow everyone away and be amazing producing some of teh best gamplay and Sephiroth type Hi-Level characters ;) ... or is gonna blow bigtime fail, cost Square lots of money and generally spoil the name of FF forever... Personally I don't think i'll bother with it, I'm waiting for XII ;)

I agree with Hexa. FFXI is not a good idea. The FF series isn't meant to be a MMORPG, its a single player extremely involved story. That's what makes these games so good, (with the exception of 8 and 9 that is, those were ungodly bad). Anyone who has played FF since the first game hit our shelves almost 15 years ago like myself is extremely worried about FFXI and what its going to mean for the series. It will be the first FF I dont buy the day it comes out... and that is just troubling.
