I just built my second pc and im having trouble with it locking up in UT. it doesnt lock up any other time one me that i know of. ive tryed reinstalling the os (w2k pro) tryed diff video card dirvers, diff via4-1 drivers refresh lock and ive tryed diff servers. its my gaming RIG in my sig if u need the specs
describe symptoms of the freeze. like my comp when i brought it home would make this tone from the pc speaker like it was over heating, in every single game. i reinstall windows and the problem is gone.
Check cooling. Update directX. Patch UT.
Follow Jester22c's suggestions, then perhaps try the system with some conservative timings if that hasn't helped.. Try stress testing the system with something - maybe a benchmark, and see if you can spot a pattern to the crashes.. I'm leaning towards memory issues, so try some memory benchmarks first and see what happens :)
