I'm in the same position you are in so I am shopping as well.
Just remember that the music/megabyte ratio is around 1 minute per megabyte. So if you work out for a couple of hours you will need around 128 MB of memory.
I own a RIO PMP300 which is the same as a RIO One. Mine came with 32 megs of RAM, and i added another 32 for a total of 64. They are quite light, use one battery, simple to use, nothing really fancy, and my 64 megs of ram are enough to stick in about 2 hours of nice music at 128 Kpbs quality.

www.mp3shopping.com, they have links to the lowest prices on mnay mp3 players, they linked me to my Rio 800 that I bought from OutPost.com. Cheack out the Iomega HipZip, I was going to get one of them but I opted for the Rio 800.
