well i have it but i havent even installed it yet. i do like rpg's and the such but i have never played one like this. ive played diablo 2 and games like final fantasy but thats about it. is the learning curve in this game pretty easy? how will it toll on my system? is it totally fun and you recommend it or am i wasting my time?
The game is excellent, it has a downside which is the graphics engine's preformance, it tends to run pretty low FPS but its still an excellent game with outstanding graphics. The main story is good (not flawless but good all the same), the sound, the atmosphere and the artistic design are excellent too.
Its nothing like FF or Diablo...I consider those to be hybrid games and Morrowind is PURE rpg.
As far as you system goes I would think it will run fine although having tested this game on an XP1900+ with both a GF2 and a GF4 I can say that it is very CPU intensive and even with such a difference in the above stated video cards the CPU is still the limiting factor. I.E very little framerate improvement from one card to the other.
P.S If you like Morrowind when you play it I suggest you also play Gothic, its a somewhat overlooked masterpiece.

I never used to be into RPG's, I was more of an FPS twitch and kill player (UT, CS etc.) and I can truly say this will be my entry into RPG's. I like it a lot :)
Its almost as good as obilivion. :)
Probably the weakest entry in The Elder Scrolls series, but a decent game on its own. Mods move it away from "decent" and into "good+", if you can find the right ones.

I like morrowind a lot. It took me several starts to figure out there was a main quest and a story. I still dont know what those are, because I have never been able to go through the bother of finding it. The worst part of it is when you join a guild and they send you somewhere to find something or somebody and you spend hours searching only to give up on it.
the towns in Morrowind is like walking through a field of keanu reeves....devoid of all emotion and only 3 facial expressions are present.
That about sums it up, yeah...the mods are a double edged sword, too, because you can OVER mod the game, which gets boring fast.Quote:
