P4 1.8a @ 2610 1.5v, Wont boot any higher.
I think i need a new mobo, this one seems to have hit the wall @ 146mhz FSB. I've tryed everything to get it to boot @ 147mhz FSB or above. Maybe i'm missing something or there's a trick to it.
Specs:
P4 1.8a @ 2610 (MALAY) Fully stable using 1.5v
I'm using a stock HSF, No thermal paste and no TIM. Temps dont get over 45c
P4S533
256mb Samsung/Kingmax/Corsair PC2700
I've tired swapping the video cards and it makes no difference, not that it should at an AGP clock of 74mhz.
Has anyone else had this prob with the P4S533 ?
Can anyone recommend a good M/B, i'd prefer DDR.
Thanks

I would recommend a TH7 with Mr naturals bios. I got my 1.8 to 2672 with voltage at 1.6. I got it to post with fsb at 152 but wasnt stable at all. But it seems that DDR boards are the in thing now so Ill sit back and be quiet because I sold my TH7II for a gigabyte 533 board only to have it spit in my face when the ram is clocked above 1066.:( Still plenty fast at 2.4 though. Ill have to make a come back here soon. Looks like a 870mhz overclock isnt much around here anymore hehehe

Have you checked out the ASUS P4T533 (RIMM4200) board ? It supposed to be out soon and comes bundled with a 512mb RIMM4200 stick which according to some reviews OC's in the 166 x 4 range  Not only that but the board has all the OCing options you need including FSB up to 200 , AGP/PCI lock , All Vcore/DIMM adjsutments ,etc...

dont worry as soon as its available Ill be looking into snatching one up and trying it out. I know DDR is the flavor of the day, but I still have a taste for that bandwidth loving RAMBUS.
Oh yeah I know its OT but I finally made it to freaking genetic jeez Ive been here FOREVER. Now I think Im going to retire I just wanted to see genetic under my name hehehe:cool:
