It's Twin MOS stuff. Looks to be on a cheap PCB and the computer store wont take it back, without a 10% restocking fee. I haven't opened the packet to try it yet, just in case i can talk them into taking it back. But the codes on the ram chips are
SAMSUNG 223
K4H560838D-TCB3
BDD5598A KOREA
Could someone tell me if these are the good chips or not ?

Markings on my real sammy chips are as follows
Samsung 208
K4H560838C TCB3
BCA522XX Korea
Not sure how or why the markings differ on the chips themselves, but on the real sammy, it's the markings on the sticker that tell you if they're good chips or not, ie:
Korea 0211
M268L3223CTL-CB3
The "CTL" sticks are the better OCers that the "DTL" sticks ;)

Not happy because you can't overclock as high as you'd like? Nope, sorry bud, if I were that store owner, I wouldn't take it back either without a restocking fee.
As long as the memory works as intended, there's not much you can really complain about. Sorry, that's just my honest opinion.
Oh, come on...I can see if he busted open the package and all, but he didn't even do that. Besides, it's always a good idea to make the customer happy when you're running a store, especially when, like in this case, it won't really cost you anything.Quote:

Doesn't matter, i've already resold it for about what I payed and ordered some Mushkin pc3200. For the time being i'll just have to live with my Corsiar XMS3200 ;)

In the 8K3A+ the highest i've tested it is 202 2-2-2 6 1T @ Max voltage. It does 198 in P4S533 @ 2-2-2. It loves voltage.Quote:

I was going to get some XMS for my next P4 mobo...looks like I'll just wait until the 22nd and grab the P4T533 and a 512Mb stick of 32bit 1066...UGH :(
I got some samsung too. Oredered some crucial from newegg, and they gave me samsung sticks. Andways, there is not mocron sticker on them. The spec are listed in that bottom window of sandra. Is that good stuff?

Fat's, TwinMOS actually makes really good memory. They don't make the ultra high-end stuff like Corsair, because they don't hand pick the modules, but as generic memory goes, it really is quite good.

Very interesting, I have a couple of sticks of Sammy that I am having doubts about. The markings are:

The other is the same AFAIK, they came from the same bin at the same store.
I got a stick of Mushkin and a stick of Corsair coming, so I might know something early next week. With the Sammy my 8K3A is acting a little weird. Looks like it is corrupting files after long periods of operation, but I haven’t had time to really look into it. And I have a KX7 333 that will boot to Bios, but is not stable enough to load the OS. On the KX7, I can’t even load a little tiny diagnostic OS, this indicates to me that it might be a ram problem. The software loads into ram and will run on a system with a dead HD, so the fact that it won’t load says it can’t get written to the ram correctly.

Search next time and you'll see that there were numerous (3+) reviews psoted in the Mobo forum and thats where I get my info from .:rolleyes:
