My large SX1040b Mod

Finally got done painting it. Here is the 120mm intake fan mod though as well as my fan control mod. Instead of having it take up a 5.25" bay I put it under the reset button and the resistors are behind the 3.5" drive bay.

Still usuing the CPU fan? If yes, is it a restriction in air flow for the 120mm fan? 120mm fan air flow cfm vs. cpu fan cfm??:confused:

Look again, he has the CPU ducted to the rear. Nice cool air being sucked in straight to CPU. I would try to find a better way to secure the Drive cage but that 120mm is awesome. Can you do a little drilling to the bottom of the case and secure it?? :cool:

The bottom drive bay is secured down by two bungy cords. They hold the drives down well enough that I can have the case upsidedown and shake it and the cage w/ two drives dont move around =) I did have to drill two holes for one end of the bungy cords to go through.

oh yeah, I wasnt too sure about everything fitting so I didnt wanna do anything too drastic this first way around, like just cutting a 120mm hole. I outlined a 120mm hole and just made a matrix of holes. Should have taken a picture but I didnt have a digy camera when the case was in pieces. But its isnt restricting air flow at all so I'll leave it this way for awhile. The 120mm fan is secured just like the others. 4 bolts with rubber grommets.

huh? I am still using my 80mm fan for the pal8045. It is sucking air away from the heatsink and the 92mm fan it is ducted to sucks the air from the fan out of the case. Keeps my case temps really close to room temp so it works pretty good

OK I was close just got the Air Flow Backwards. Have you tried both ways? What ever works best for you like Ash always says...;)

Yeah Having both fans blow in gets my proc about 1c cooler but my case temp 3c hotter. So I have it blowing out now
