Whats going down with Dell

I know that most of us agree that Dell is part of the Evil Empire when it comes to prefab computer like substances.

But I noticed that the Keanu Reeves like Dell Rep is pushing the opportunity to win a brand new BMW, last month its was vacations, before that it was like five thousand dollars. When we are in a recession, these appear to blatant attempts to draw out consumerisms. I mean $5000k is alot, fancy trips prolly cost alot more, but BMW's at like $40k a pop that a bit rich. I peaked at their charts, Year to Date they are down by a smidge, and over the last three months they have dug themselves out of a nice little hole, but I guess they didnt close well this weekend cause they had a down tail.

Maybe Im just a little crazy but I wanted to hear other poeples *informed* opinions on the matter.

Smart company. I guess you don't have stocks in dell.;)

I hear about these contests but never hear about the winners.. personally i think they do something like:

1. Advertise they are giving away a BMW
2. 5000 people buy computers.. put their names in a hat
3. Dump 10 bagillian other names labeled "OddsInOurFavor"
4. "Randomly" pick one out of the enormous hat

Then they can claim they held the drawing and no one won... :-P
