is it posible to change the color of my optical mouse light? and if it is could you help me do this?
hmm you know just the other day i was thinking about this with mine..but im not sure if itd work since the light has to pick up the movement. I dunno, there might be some lights out there..but i know ive never seen any
"fred":cool:
do you know if its the light that picks up movement or its somethign else?
It's possible, IIRC.
Do a search in the cases and cooling forum for "mouse mod."
You'll find something like this: http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthre...=mouse+LED+mod
Dayum! Forgot about that one :D I hope you like it!
My friend replaced his with a blue LED...it wasn't difficult at all. I've heard that it degrades performance somewhat--don't know how true that is though.
lol i think i even have the word file OCKing sent me on how to mod your optical light :D
Couldn't be too bad. If I ever had the desire to do it to my MS optical trackman, I'd just use it in my USB port rather than ps2. It should at least level the performance back out.Quote:

i loooked at thouguhs pics and i saw i needed a welder well i dont have one of thoughs:mad: :eek: :( now i have to get one and work on it thanks for the help.
Actually you can get a soldering iron and solder pretty cheap. It costs $7.99 for a 15watt (that's all you'll need) soldering iron and $3.99 for a LONG spool of solder. The led switch is definately worth it in my opinion. Not to mention, it was the first thing I ever soldered, so it's very easy. However, only certain colors will work. I'll get you the color list later. My blue led worked just fine. I have heard of people trying to use a 5v led, but it didn't work well/at all because usb ports can only handle 5v total (from what I hear).
so you guys say i should go usb? and where could i get the LEDs i dont want to go offline seeing as my parents wouldnt let me do that and i dont want to wait, would some place like radioshack have what i need? and im also planning on doing my keyboard and case lights while im at it. do you guys think i could get this stuff at radioshack? or if not where could i get them?
Radioshack will be just fine. That's where I got my stuff from.
the only thing they didnt have was my 3mm LEDs oh well ill get them somewhere else.

Good luck. :)
You guys are all KILLING IT! lol. Ok first off, my mouse was wireless so the usb port was not an issue. Hop over to www.bgmicro.com and click on the last minute additions. There are perfect led's there 'round 3-4 volts is what you need. And all you peeps *cough CE* who try and act like you know what you are talking about, SHUTUP.
