AMD requested it closed. :D
Well Boogs I posted something regarding the spam going on at the new forum at the new forum and it was erased. It looks like the Powers that be are going to be very immature about this whole thing.
And don't be surprised if this gets locked as well, without someone replying to your concerns.
Oh and check your PMs ;)
My one and only post got deleted at the new forum as well. Why? who knows. Do I care? Not really. I'm tired of seeing the stickies in all of the forums here though. =\
Before this gets closed too, regarding my post in your other thread boogyman - I still think some advertising is perfectly reasonable. But um, that really sucks if we aren't allowed to express our opinion about it. I'd hate to see AMD follow Intelisoft marketing strategies :(
That was my "I am leaving because of the horrible spam and..." thread that got deleted. They covered up the truth in post form for now it seems. I do loathe theses stickies in every forum.Quote:

I think I need to step in & give my two cents here, the owners & administrators of this site have every right to advertise as they see fit. As members you pay nothing to have the priviledge to come here for computer help so quit your whining, nobody is forcing any of you to click on any of the adverts & most of you dont anyway so let it rest. BJ
That's a totally valid point BJ, but remove the feedback forums if you want the site so strictly run. Because why would anyone care what non-paying members think? Right?
Boogs, I totally understand where you are coming from, what I dont understand is why members make such a big deal out of something so trivial as the admin advertising another site which they own. As a moderator I do care what members think especially vets like you & I agree you have every right to express your opinion but when it comes to *****ing about things that the owners of the site have implemented, that, I dont agree on. Dont let it bug you so much & move on to helping people like you always have. BJ
It's really kinda funny. We have sticky's posted on each forum not to spam or whatever, which lots find annoying.
Then a super mod whom we never heard of, posts a sticky, on all forums, with a link to a new site which has so much spam that a mod here at sharky's added a statement to his sig. saying something about the spam on the new linked site.
And to top it off a cut and paste from the new forum.....what audience is Sharky targeting?

Moridin,
Good catch on 2^16 = 64K instead of 1MB, thanks -- more my fault (I sleepily edited the story) than author Dan Costa's. I'll tweak the piece to clarify, though we didn't want to clog the introductory article with details about register extensions (like the 286's 24-bit addressing or the Xeon's >4GB) -- from your posts, you're obviously a wee bit geekier than the mainstream audience we're targeting for the site.
Big John, its not the advertising that is bugging the members (and some of the staff as well) Its how the whole matter was handled here and at the new forum. A couple of members complained in threads over at the new forum about the amount of spam being tolerated there, and had their topics erased. And Boogs here stated his opinion and had his topic locked without a legit answer given. And lets be honest I am quite sure all the members here have seen the ad / stickies for the new forum and they have served their purpose.
And BTW I click on an ad here once a day. and considering I am here everyday I think I have done my share of supporting the cause.
I really only think Boogs was asking that the external internet.com admins and "supermods" be more forthright in thier future dealings with the members of the sharky community.

What those guys said.
I have to agree. I'm mostly annoyed with the "sponsored by AMD" name though.
if it isnt really any feedback and is more of just chatter (like this thread), i close them.
