NNNOOO!!!!! Computer, come back!

:mad: :mad: Arg!!!! :mad: :mad: I was browsing good ol' sharky when my computer suddenly decided that we've been spending too much time together and turned itself off...permamently. I pushed the power button to turn it back on and...nothing. The computer won't even turn on, because of that I'm assuming it's a problem with the PSU. Would that be a correct assumption? Or does anyone have any other ideas as to what might be the culprit? The computer was as follows:
AMD Athlon 1Ghz
Gigabyte 7zx 1.01
512mb pc133
Voodoo5 5500AGP

This really sucks as I have no money right now so if anyone could offer me some cheap solutions to this problem it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

were ya doin any overclocking and how were your temps?

No overclocking and temps, IIRC, were 40C CPU and 25C case.

It might be as simple as a blown fuse in your power cord or inside the PSU itself. I would check-out both first.

Also check your PSU output power leads are properly connected to your mobo.

Hrmm...guess I'll try a different power cord. I don't want to open up my power supply if it can be avoided and it should be connected properly to the motherboard unless if I had so much airflow in my case that the connector got pulled out, lol yeah right :p

dont' take offence, but this happen to me before,
if you look on the back of your power supply , there is a breaker there, sometime is flips, try it. :-)

How odd...Ok I tried a different power cord...and my computer works! YAY! Now the cord I tested belongs to my dads computer so I couldn't keep it. I took my dad's cord out and replaced it with my old one and decided to try one last time with my old cord. Guess what? :eek: It worked!!! :eek: I'm a happy camper now :D , I just hope this never happens again. Well thanks for all the help.

if changing the power cord did it then maybe you should get a new one just incase
