While browsing through the latest news on Guru3D, I found this interesting little tid-bit concerning UT2003 and NV30. Go to this link and check it out for yourselves. Seems like ATI fan boys are getting pissed off that Nvidia has got one helluva video card on the way! I don't know about you guys, but I think when Nvidia finally does reveal these super-secret specs on the NV30, we're all

Read it, and it has nothing to do with NV30 being a better card. It has to do with them claiming at UT2K3 was made to run less optimized on cards other than NV30.
The whole thing is a load a crap, and isn't true. Will NV30 be faster than the 9700? Very likely. Is it going to be some earth shatter revelation to the video world? Not hardly.
So do you suggest I board myself up in my bunker on the day of release for safety?

It would just be useless for me to even respond and try to back up my belief that NV30 will be awesome. I suggest that all of you delve into the many forums about this topic on the link I gave. It seems this has become a heated discussion on whether UT2003's TRUE graphics can only be displayed on the NV30, a 256mb card, or its true graphics are on current video cards already(Radeon 9700).

Your right of course the Video Card will blow the Radeon 9700 Pro out of the water and all existing video cards...most likely including the R350 which will be hitting the shelves around the same time ATi has claimed on XBitLabs before. But as far as earth shattering I dont think anyone knows that. Hell we never counted on the NV20 to be earth shattering and to be honest I really dont think the GeForce3 is that much of a improvement that you can use terms like "revolutionize" and so forth which almost every major publication has given it the title.
Didn't one of the Epic guys already say there are levels 128MB of RAM on a card isn't enough for high detail?
These Rage3d guys go way too far in their "nVidiot kiss my butt" rhetoric.
They act like they're at war with nVidia, and it's just their VGA....
ROFLMFAO I think the card will be faster than the 9700, but I do not think it will be Earth shattering like some people make it out to be. I mean did the 9700 actually live up to everyones expectations??? From what I remember people were making this card out to be the greatest invention ever. NV30 is sure to be a very fast card, but it will probably be just like every other new card.Quote:

I remember when the 9700 was supposed to "chage the world". Now the 9700 almost seems like old news.

The ATI 9700 pro is not a earth shattering revelation to the video world. Its not 8 + times faster than any other video card out. It can not do FSAA or AF without any performence hit. It can not do 1600x1200 with all deatails on high with 6x FSAA and 16x AF on with playable frame rates in all games.
