i just bought my first* computer!
well, i woke up the other day thinking, "i need to go to costco. we're getting low on milk." and so my friend and i left for costco. i've been thinking about getting a computer sometime in the next year, but i thought i would get a nikon 105mm micro lens first...turns out i bought the computer instead, hehe. i got the computer at costco, as i thought it was a great price that they had it at. it's a laptop (i'm a college guy now...i need to be able to write a bunch of crap away from my room and roommate) and it was about $900. i know it's not a "monster gaming machine" or anything like that, nor did i even buy it to play games (that's what my friends desktop is for;)) but the specs certainly aren't that bad.
toshiba satellite:
14.1" XGA TFT active matrix
20GB harddrive
celeron 1.13GHz (yeah, it's a celeron, oh well;))
256MB PC133 ram
3 USB ports
printer port
monitor port
windows XP home
56k/v.90 modem
10/100 ethernet
pc card slot
8x dvd
3.5" floppy
32mb (shared from ram) intel graphics chipset
i can actually play aliens vs predators 2 on it, so i'm pleased:)
*it's not the first time i've USED a computer, hehe. just the first time i've completely bought it myself and can call it mine:)
