I'm sick of knowing at least a dozen people with the same as mine. You can't expect everyone to get a custom avatar after a thousand posts, can you?

FIVE thousand, to be precise. :p
Dispite the inaccuracies of his numbers. *eyes the very "detail oriented" boogyman*
I too am of the opinion that a few additional Avatars wouldnt hurt.
Varity is the spice of life.
i tried a few months back, and they wont upload. I am thinking the permissions for the folder are set wrong, or something. I dont really have any control over this, so for now, you get the same avatars. I had a bunch of neat looking animated ones I was going to add for 5k+ posts.
Somebody at Internet.com should throw the Sharky Team a bone or two one of these days. First the teeth, now simple avatar upload. It'd be nice if there was some kind of project to at least allow Catalyst to alter the site once in a while. Are they really hard to get in touch with?
I don't mind the limited number of avatars, but I do miss the teeth.
What about Housen's replacement (Richard?)? Given that he took over the position, he'd have the same access the man did, right?Quote:

rich didnt take over housen's job, totally. Rich is contract like I am, if i recall correctly. Housen's job was split up between a few people, i think.
Why can't you just let us upload/link our custom avatars and set a size restriction on them? Do you want the Net-Devil.com forum to overshadow you guys?
That would be unfair to those of us who have worked hard to get super cool avatars ;)Quote:

I don't think anyone else should be able to upload avs for there own person use except those that have a certain post count level (or maybe time lenght level) but I do agree that there needs to be some added general avs. After switching from ubb and losing the avs a lot of people just don't find it useful to even pick an av...
then it will run out of control, beside not everyone wants to surf and load pictures he's not interesedQuote:

How about lower in the custom Avatar level to something like 2500 post, 5000 post and you get to use an animated Avatar? I've been posting since Dec 2000, and I still only have a post count of around 1500. :(
It's not like I don't post either.
So do you want sharky forums to lower their standards :pQuote:

You just gotta keep up posting... ;) Plus I don't think there is a way to have the server or boards distinguish between whats an animated gif and whats not an animated gif. Also I feel the animated gifs (in most cases though not all) give the site a corny type feeling if they're done inccorrectly...
the biggest argument i can think of for not allowing off-site avatars is that you can't control the content. if someone decides to use the goatse.cx picture for their avatar, some dude might see it on his kid's computer and raise a ruckus.
Tu considering that as of now I am watching an animated gif for your avatar, with one sequence that depicts the sexual position commonly refered to as 69 done by character commmonly associated with restrooms signs. You are the last person that should speak on the topic of inappropriate avatars.
