Thrustmaster Tactical Board
I recently got one of these devices and I usually Hate any gimmicky crap for FPS's especially Joysticks and the such. But I have to admit I really dont want to play BF1942 or UT without the tactical board now, Unlike the nostrom(sp) speedpad the TB is comfortable and the buttons are actually usefull, especailly the 7 button ajustable thumb pad. You can map keys to have specific actions before you even enter the game, for instance I use 2 of the thumb buttons to either side of my jump key to perform double taps in UT or dodge. So now I only have to move my thumb a little and bingo Im a hoppin.
For games that have a ton of function keys like JK II or BF1942 This board is a lifesaver, no more do I have to try to figure out where I want to map vital keys around my wsad.
The build in voice command keys I havent really utilized yet, probibly because I havent used voice since my Tac Ops clan days.
In short I reccomend this 2nd keyboard for anyone who plays alot of FPS's

You know... I saw one of those at CompUSA the other day, and I thought about picking one up. I think that was the model... you like it then? I pretty much only play FPSs, but I'm also into NWN right now... can you map keys differently depending on the game? What about instead of a keyboard? I lan with my friends and it would save space if i only had to bring that instead of that and a keyboard...
sorry :), i know you're not an expert and all... just never talked to a user of one before.
Re: Thrustmaster Tactical Board
I've been eyeing that tactical board for the past 12 months now and now it's finally out. Of course, no one told me about it!
Do you have any problems with the board so far, in terms of getting certain games to recognize the bindings?
I think the tactical board will be perfect for ut2003 and castle wolfenstein, for binding vocal commands and weapon selection.
Now only if there was a button to make me a better player...
