Does Anyone know if Max Payne 2 is in Development?

I heard a while ago that a max payne 2 was in development. The first Max payne was so good, Im reinstalling it now. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, could you please provide info/links/etc.?

Wow.. thanks:D. Also about release date, the press article (the top link you gave me) says its going to be released in 2003. If so, Im going to preorder for sure.

You mean after Duke Forever? Well, Im not too sure, but I think the development teams are different. If so then hopefully Max Payne 2 will be released by then or near then.

5 years to bring max payne, think about it....

haha I forgot about that. But I did remember DNF, Which STILL isnt even out. yeah you might have a point, but I think with the success and basis of the first one, its a lot easier to make a sequel.. I could be wrong, but thats what I think is whats going to happen.

Oh no no! Duke Nukem Forever will be out SOON! Oh yes! I know this because I have seen a battered DNF 'coming soon' box on the shelf at my local Electronics Boutique store. Never mind the fact that that same box has been on and off the coming soon shelf for the ENTIRE YEAR, and a fair swag of last year too! THAT must be the most long lived coming soon box I've EVER seen.

God I hope so. I loved max payne. I can't wait until max payne 2 is released.

well, they developed the engine, so that took a while.

I just hope they get the same writer to do the graphical novel in the second game as they did for the first. That really helped make the game unique and revolutionary. I wish more games had the sort of creative thought put into them that games like max payne, deus ex, or hl had. Max payne definately raised my expectations in games.

I just read at IGN that Max Payne 2 is due sometime in 2004, and according to them, it will use a new engine, since its going to be "post Doom 3."

but, looks up and asks to big guy, is it true.. .. yes mp2 will be here and not vapor ware.. walks away assured...
