GeForces have crappy fans? how to replace?

Ok, this has happened to me before.

back then I bought the original GeFroce 256.. I think it was from Guillemot. After a good year or two of use, the fan on it began to fail and it made a whining noise and then just didn't work. I had to replace it. It was pretty easy.

But now I have a GeForce 3 (original) and the fan is embedded in the heatsink.. and the heatsink cools the memory as well. so it will be a little harder to replace. does anyone know where I could maybe order a spare heatsink + fan?

you can get a thermaltake crystal orb... those are replacements for geforce 3 cards

Or simply rip out the stock fan and buy a 50x50x10mm fan and screw it onto the heat sink.

BTW, those GF256 fans were always too small for such a hot GPU as the 0.25 micron GF256. A lot of them died because of this.

With this configuration i could overclock my GF256 to 170Mhz core and it was still cool :)

Newegg has ThermalTake video card fans. It's hard to find something that Newegg doesn't have...

The ASUS Cooler i think is seperate from the ram sinks tho it looks like its all one piece so there shouldnt be a problem installing a Corb etc. But the original HS is large and really only needs a new fan.
