Well hey there!!
Hello!
FIRST: Just wanted to say hay, and introduce myself. I am new to this forum, but certainly not new to the technology within. I have been a member of [H] for a while, and have decided to check out other forums. I have heard great things about this forum, so here I am! :)
SECOND: Something I thought I would share on my first post. After about 5 years of being an AMD-head, tonite I switched back to Intel. I was running an AMD Athlon [email protected], on an MSI KT3 Ultra 2. Temps were 39idle/46 full. Tonite I picked up a P4S533 mobo, and a P4-1.8A. The processor is running great at 150*18/2.7gig. Temps are 32idle/44full load on the stock HSF! This is a damn good chip! Im very impressed. The only snaggle ive run into, is at 150mhz the PCI/AGP bus is running at about 38mhz, and on some games(BF1942...surprise, huh?) my Ti4600 acts a fool. But all in all this has been a VERY good migration, and I dont think im going back to AMD anytime soon. Take care. ;)

Left [H] huh ;)
I won't ask if you were removed ;) but my PM is below ;)
Seriously, welcome. The 38Mhz wall is noted for just that reason. In many circumstances peripherals on your pci bus are A-OK but this is the speed where problems can often begin to occur. 2.7Ghz is very respectable from a 1.8A. Once you buy a mobo with one side there is not enough reason to switch to the other. Intel will provide you with plenty of upgrades down the road.

great to have you on board...hope you'll enjoy your stay with the sharks :D Those Intel's sure are great...you just gotta love their high multiplier settings and their cooling effectiveness :) can't say they're as cheap as AMD's though :(
