Terrific article though. Though I love my XP I must concede that I am recommending people towards the XP1800+ Tbred. It is just part of the evolution of tech and OCing. To call a horse a horse the Tbred1800+ is a much more attractive deal for OCer's anyway.
If I mentioned myself making past 1.9Ghz, and I mentioned SF; that's two points of reference. It would not be good not to give the due credit to the person who has the record over here; and hey, you earned it. ;)Quote:

I am desperately trying to talk myself out of a new 1800+ Tbred and an ThermalRight SLK-800, because I have a new car to pay for, plus girls are expensive too. I think I have seen my last 1600+ overclock from myself, so that's all the more reason to want a 1800+... eh, that could be another article some day ;p
Anyways very nice overclock on the old pally, makes me want to push mine again, but I know she's at the hilt now. I did buy some dryer tubing for this cold air, so we shall she what the weather and Spartacus bring.

Oh a challenge huh. Well I believe I have a decided weather advantage ;) Frankly, if I can just get that one more FSB to bring me to 2Ghz I'll be content. I also toyed with the idea of dropping $70 on that Tbred and trying for 2.1 or 2.2 but really an extra 100-200Mhz is not worth $70 for me. I'm just putting that money in my Barton fundQuote:

I have tried all I can, but my 1600+ will not give me anymore (albeit these temperatures should help), so that 1800+ is temping. Barton and GF FX are lost causes for me... they just don't seem to be happening, but I guess I need to stop buying the latest and greatest.Quote:

Funny thing, my Corsair ram needed an extra .5vcore to keep my 1600+ stable at 1.95Ghz over my Sammy. If I wasn't so busy no-a-days I would have at least run 3D Mark, but that hasn't even been installed for over a month... it's very sad I know.
Tonight I have some free time, if the weather is back to it's 40f I will give her and run and see if she disappoints or makes a showing. ;)
Hit the same wall: 187Mhz FSB, I will save benchies for another day.
Ah, well for now I will stick to writing and leave overclocking off until a colder day ;)

Have you ordered the SLK-800 from SVC, or no??? I was wondering how that transaction went down, because I have seen lately that they have kinda messed up some orders. Their prices on cables and cooling is amazing.
