I need to be able to connect to my work pc from my house? How would you recomend going about this? What program/s would i need? I have a router, can i still do that? I'm sure my work has a router with t1 or dsl internet. What would i have to do witht the router stuff?

Talk to the IT people where you work. If they have any network security whatsoever -- and they probably do -- you'll need their help to get connected.

VNC, pcAnywhere, Windows XP Remote desktop... They'll all work assuming you can get through your employer's router & firewall.
The router/firewall at work would need to be configured to forward incoming traffic on the appropriate ports to your system at work. You would need your IT guys to help make this happen, and they're pretty likely to say no since it would open up a potential security hole.
The correct solution would be to make a VPN connection to your employer's network so that security isn't compromised. Again, you'll need to talk to your IT department to set this up.
If your IT folks won't cooperate with you, one alternative is to originate the remote session from inside. You could use Windows' Task Scheduler on your work machine to initiate a connection with your home computer. This should work in theory, but you'll have to sort out the details on your own since I've never had to try it.

If you think you'll like pcAnywhere, you would probably like VNC, too. And the best part about VNC is that it's free!
