Refresh rate on monitor
Hi guys,
lol, my monitor is below it's maximum refresh rate of 75hz.
Anyway I can change the refresh rate? It's at 46 kHz right now, and the flickering is anoying me as I type this.:D
Also, this is an old Sony monitor from way back in 1996. IT's like 12 inches or something !

if you KNOW the max refresh rate is 75Hz, then it's probably the vid card. what kind of card do you have? also, if you bought the card retail, it should list a number of resolutions and max refresh rates on the side of the box. if not, they might have it listed at the website.
see if the res you use is supported and goes to 75Hz or higher. if all else fails get the vid cards tech support (good luck (laff)) and/or call sony tech support and tell them about the issue and your model of monitor.
last i checked(in the days of the sony 2x burner), their tech support was so freakin impressive. i actually got a HUMAN on the phone with LITTLE wait, and he knew *** he was talking about. he even gave me tips on tweaking my computer for optimal performance. when everything failed, he concluded that it was the drive and said send it back and they'll fix it right up :D
hope this helps :D

The selectable refresh rates are basically determined by the monitor driver.
If the monitors max refresh rate is 75Hz@640x480, it will only do 60-65 at 800x600 etc.

Right click on your desktop/properties/advance/monitor and look for your refresh rate options.
