Heh... I'd say its not windows screwing you but your ram. What kind of ram are you using, and what are your VCore and VMem settings??? I'm pretty sure its your ram though.
I have 256 of pc3200 ddr. My vcore is running at 7.25 and the mem to cpu ratio is 3 to 4. Also I overclocked it at 2.8ghz but when i shut down and restarted it kept beeping and wouldnt turn on.
Intel p4 2.4B ghz
soyo dragon lite mobo
256 corsair pc 3200 extreme ddr
sound blaster live! 5.1
MSI 128mb geforce4 ti 4200 8x
western didital 80 gig hard drive
enermax case w/ 350 watt supply
Memory divider is 3:4 correct, not sure from your post, if so:Quote:

2.8/18=155MHz FSB
155FSB/3*4=207MHz or DDR414 (exceeds limits of your RAM of 400DDR, but your RAM may handle it)
1)increasing your Vdimm to 2.7 volts may help your RAM become stable
and/or
2)Check and set your memory timing to something less aggressive.
and/or
3)Lower your divider to 1:1 (or whatever you have) and see what happens
PS: your Vcore ain't running at 7.25 volts, whats it really set to?
Does your pci bus lock down? It sounds like your hdd is choking to me.
sorry about that. my vcore is 1.725 If i change the memory to clock ratio from 3:4(which is what it is now) to 1:1 wouldnt that make the memory run even faster?
