Locking Strip?

Ok, so i've had my window in for about 6 months, and everythings been going fine.....except for the locking strip. It's been about 1/4 out of place for a few months now, and just recently came about 1/2 to 2/3 done, so i just pulled it out (as it started going further once i messed with it). At this point, is the locking strip really necessary, and what is the worst thing that could really happen to my window?

The worst that can happen is your window will be easy to remove. I never put the locking strip in when I did my window.

had the same problem recently i found the corners were where the strip was falling out first so i trimed the strip so it no longer went around the curved corners and now it stays in just fine

given that my window is L-shaped to fit around the handle, and is about 60% curved, i think i'll just leave it out...
