Is "The Sims" a simulator?
Why is it called a simulator? Because s-i-m is the title or what? Isn't it much closer to a RPG than a simulator. I mean if The Sims is a simulator (in that it simulates life) why wouldn't Madden 2003 (for example) be a simulator and not a "sports" game? Afterall, I can choose to play only one player in the game if I like and I can take that player thru 16 games and playoffs en route to a Superbowl win; can I not? Damn...guess that means Madden should be a RPG too??;)
Anyhoo, I don't like The Sims being called a simulator. Guess that's all I really had to say.:D

whether a game can be called a simualtor or not depends on the degree of accuracy of the simulation. madden 2003 is a sports simulator if it is accurate enough. i haven't played that or sims but sims is probably the only "life simulation" game out there so i think it can desrve the title simualtro
