And it doesn't seem like theres a lot out there.
Any advice?
I'm trying to stay away from the Baulder's gate hack and slash type and more of a Final Fantasy/Dragon Warrior type of RPG. Any suggestions?
thanks all!

There is an Xbox entry for Gothic at gamespot, no release date set though...
Other than that I really dunno anything about Xbox...sorry :)
This probably is a hack and slash RPG, but it seems like it's going to be one of the coolest RPGs when it comes out. Check out Fable.
You know I dont think there is a traditional Japanese type RPG for the xbox. There is black stone which looks decent and perhaps metal dungeon which has gotten horrible reviews but I am not sure if xbox has any game set up like Dragon Warrior or FF. I dont mean to sound like a fanboy but really the ps2 is the system for rpg's of this type. That is why I cant make a decision between my systems. The ps2 is awesome for japanese type rpg's, xbox is awesome for xbox live, and the gamecube is strong with its platformers.
Sure X-Box has the 278952752897529857198514278951247895157891547896576183 hour RPG (morrowind is it? forgot the name, sorry). But all in all PS2 is the dominant RPG machine. They multiply the releases of X-Box and GCN RPGs combined. I think GCN is catching up soon though, they have had plans for RPGs since the day it came out, but they haven't released HALF of what they said yet!
Sorry, just a PS2 fanboy speaking his mind.
With the exception of Evolution what Jap style rpg does the cube have? RPG's are now confusing lol. They break down into basically rpgs like Diablo and Morrowind and then like Dragon Warrior and Finaly Fantasy which i call the Jap style.
Cube has Skies of Arcadia Legends, if you want RPGs the PS2 is where its at... I still cant get over how great Suikoden 3 is.
Yep, the ps2 has the the RPGs. Have not tried skies for the cube yet.
Only menu based RPG for the Xbox I can think of is.............. The Sims :p :D j/k
If you havent even played it on Dreamcast yet, then you're missing out; its a great game.
Welp yeah thats kinda what I was figuring. Ahhh well, I'll deal I guess. I used to have a PS2, but High Defination games drew me over to the green side.
Thanks for the suggestions tho, I'll check some of those out.
