Will a 733mhz celeron work with the 440lx chipset. Also would flashing the bios be needed? Thankx

Thats hard to judge from here. AFAIK the LX was a budgetversion of the BX. It depend on wether it is a slot or socket of cause. I would check the site of your motherboardmanufacturer if I were you.
if i'm not mistaken the 440lx was a single slot cpu and the 733mhz celeron cpu is a flip chip, square peg no go in round hole.:p
The 440LX actually was the chipset before the BX and used to support the P2 chips up through 333MHz. You really should check with the board maker. There is a good possibility that your board won't support a multiplier high enough to make that chip run at full speed.
You would also have to find a Slocket adapter, since that Celeron is likely PPGA or FC-PGA and your board is Slot 1.
Even if it 'works' you're going to have a problem with the 133MHz FSB with that chipset. Basically, it's not worth it, since you'll need to get some sort of adapter. A K7S5A mobo and a 1GHz Duron is dirt cheap and will way out perform the combo you're asking about.
