Counter Strike

I was all happy and **** when i bought half life counter strike. I instaled it playd a few rounds and god damn i got killed no matter what. I would run around a door and boom head shot. Its like the people know where im at. Ive watched some videos of cs players. I didnt see any cheats loaded but how the hell do they do that. is it really skill? i dont see how. Thats why i enjoy bf1942 so much. No one knows where your at. So u can hide and you shoot when you see someone not shoot when ur cheat tells you they are fixing to come around the corner. But ive seen some websites that are trying hard to fix that :(

CS is a very frusterating game and takes a good amount of skill. When I play, sometimes I go on god like streaks and some I get owned by almost all. So I do enjoy the game, me and my friends still play it a lot. It takes time. Also you learn the maps. This is very key.

Cheats no, skill maybe. The headshots in CS are rediculous imo and are very random very often but oh well been like that since 1.3. As far as people knowing where you are, after u play a long period of time say 2 1/2-3 yrs like myself you pretty much learn every map and where people love to camp.

usually sound is the key to most good players.

use the radar (when you teammate(s) dies you can rush over to that spot, usually the T team will be there). aim for the neck, shoot in bursts (unless you can do that BS full auto ;) ), be prepared and predict (shoot through walls/doors/boxes, or if you know the camping spots on the map) for the worst, using fb's, blah blah blah - list goes on

just be aware of everything, good headphones or speakers help :)

Yup. Knowing the maps is like 80% of the game IMO. Then comes aim. But also when a team works together Its very hard to beat them. Many factors come into CS.

There are definite spots with advantages, and when the server is running with the footstep options, you can here people coming unless they go to walking mode. Since you have a radar screen showing where your players are, it isn't too hard to tell is the person coming is on your team or not. You will also find in certain maps that you will want to shoot through crates, doors, and walls in certain areas because people hide there.

However, CS has taken a lot of flack because of the large number of people using aimbots, which basically means you shoot and you hit the target, as well as wall hacks, allowing them to see through doors and walls. This way they just be waiting, even if you aren't making noise that they could hear. It is these cheats that have driven many to leave online CS playing, or moving to specific servers that are password protected so only a known group of people can play on them.

when i used to play, i would try to play on clan servers whenever possible, mainly because there's usually an admin around to stop people "misbehaving" as it were. also usually its good to have people play as a team rather than running off all gung-ho, which is no use to a learner. luck is just something you have to lump in CS, but when you start learning maps u can also start thinkin what type of gun will fair better on what you want to do. e.g. shotgun is lethal in close quarters maps, LETHAL! but sod all use tryin to hurt someone along a tunnel..

Its all in the wrist :p As people said tho, you gotta know the map and you gotta know what to expect of your weapons. I have seen people owning a whole squad of MP5-bearing players with a single deagle. And then they started *****ing. I quit CS btw, ah, freedom feels good!

What everyone said above is true. Listen to everyones advice and you will get better. Don't turn to the dark side :o.

The only other thing I can suggest is to follow the good players while playing, copy them. That can help speed up the process. Always when you die watch a good player.

Haha, people call me a cheater all the time. I've played for 3 years. I know every map by heart, all the hiding spots, where ppl are likely to be etc. What you want to do is put yourself at an advantageous spot to your specific weapon. If you have an MP5, you gotta be up close and aim for the head. If you got an AWP, you want to be hidden, looking down a long corridor or something. Most of the time you'll be carrying:

1. MP5
2. M4A1
3. AK47

One of those three weapons, because they're the best all around guns. Learn to use them well...the AK is especially deadly. The recoil is hard to control though, but accuracy is great with single shots. The M4 is easier to control while spraying...very good short to medium range. It can be used at long range also, in 2-3 shot bursts. The MP5 is close quarters and some medium range. It's very easy to control, you can run and spray accurately. Go for the head. The MP5 is made for HS.

After you learn all of the maps and start seeing patterns on where people go, you can anticipate where they are and get into position to kill. Listening is very very important. You can surprise a lot of people by waiting behind a corner and listening to them come, then at the last second run out and start spraying at the head. If you have any aim at all you'll get the kill, unless they luck out with a HS of their own, which is a small chance.

As for cheating - find a good place to play, a clan server or some place where the admins take care of business. That way you know there are no cheats...although when you get good enough, you'll be better than any hacker ;)

I didnt read through the previous posts, but people have been playing for 3 years, they know how long it takes for you to get to a certin point. Thus, they know where you likely are.

You will have a very very hard time getting better when everyoen else has 3 years practice on you.

Its all about practice. If you know the maps, and how it works, (where Ts come from, cts, etc) then you'll be good. The object is, when you get flashed, if you know where to get a safe spot the fastest. :)
