simultaneous downloads in iexplorer

Wondering where I can change the amount of simultaneous downloads in iexplorer, can only download 4 @ the time.

It's not a setting in IE. IE will allow you to download as many simultaneous files as the web server will allow. Many web servers have their simultaneous downloads per client limited to 2 or 4, though, and that's probably what you're seeing.

I do not know what version of IE you use but this is a link to a registry hack for IE4 through IE6. I don't know if it works on newer versions because I still like using 5.5

I've downloaded more than four files lots of times. Are you usign a download utility/manager like GetRight? I know you can change the number of downloads in those programs.

The number of connections you can have to any one server is limited by a line in your registry. You can either go in and change it yourself, or download one of several programs to up the limit. Head over to www.speedguide.net and check out the download section. Might want to browse around for a while before trying anything. I know this works becuase I used to think I was limited by the server I was connected to. Usually the server counts on windows to limit the connections for you. I went in, upped the max connections, and voila, I can download many files from the same site all at the same time.
