using zonealarm 3, by default you have to add sites or programs to block. Is their a way to make it the other way? Block all but exclude some sites?

this is not for me, but for my parents's secretary.
specs of machine, just in case
win2k pro NTFS
p3 450
196 sdram
20GB hdd
the idea is to let her only access sites about different life/medical/car insurance (my parents sell that) and block everything else
umm.. Undoubtedly someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but.. in order to allow someone access to only certain sites you'd hafta block her internet access - which is done thru the browser, not the firewall. But I understand what you mean about ZA being able to block programs. I didn't know it could also block sites!
If that's the case, try networking the secretary's comp to yer parents' and load ZA Pro on yer parents' machine w/the free version on their secretary's machine. Make yer parents' comp the server and block the sites which they don't want the secretary to access.
I'm a serious networking noob tho. Maybe try posting in the networking forum will get you a better answer. :\
The computers are networked, the secretarys' pc recieves internet from my pc or from my fathers (I sometimes change the cable and so it's mine or my fathers the one with DHCP)Quote:

I just read the manual, and where do I do that. The manual does mention how to block individual sites but not block all excluding some
Sorry, but I'm about to be in over my head. :p You could try going here to look for answers or, better yet, post in the Networking forum. The mods there post every day and know what they are talking about.
i did do some search in that site, i'll give it another try. i'll post in the network forum when some days have pasted, to avoid Double Post
of course, you could just turn off dns and add static entries for the sites you want to allow to your lmhosts file. the effect would be as you described, NO internet access at all except for the sites you enter into the lmhosts file.
And how would I manage to turn off DNS and add static entries? I`m new to that
