ok, building a computer for a friend, but he's on a budget. i dont think he'd want to spend more than $20 on a hsf, but he might be willing to go as high as $25 or $30.
it's not really for OCing but it would be a definite plus. also the quieter the better. i have a 36db 80mm hsf and it's way loud. i think he'd want something a tiny bit quieter. (maybe variable fan speed?)
I recently put a Vantec Aeroflow on a friends XP2400+.
Nice full size clip, great cooling and its not too loud.
Idles at 31C in a 20C room.

also, where's the best place to get coolers from? newegg doesnt always have the greatest selection for fans and stuff and other sites may have nice prices, but charge an arm and a leg for crappy shipping...

I think the SLK-800 and Smartfan2 will be over your budget, but thats the best cooling combo i can think of (excluding the 900). Check out svc.com, they have pretty good prices and shipping is good too:)

If he's not going crazy on the overclocking you could save some cash and just go with the retail HSF. I've heard a lot of people are having good results with the retail unit, suprisingly;) But, I would too, also go with the SLK and TTSmartfan, little over priced, though.
