hey, when you are done with your $38 processor..............

anyway, i have two 'spare' AMD processors in my possession, both do well over 200 FSB and will clock like mad, either on a VIA or Nforce. the 2800+ clocked to 3+gig on the 8k3a+, even without the 1/6 divider that VIA will never have.

one is a 2800+ (had her to 3+gig on the promme) and the other is a nice 2100+.

that little 2100+ hit 2.3 gig out of the box.

for $60 bucks (much less than your total spent to date chasing cr.ppy cpus), you could be enjoying the 3Dmarkage you so desperately want to get.

seriously, i will sell you either cpu, if nothing else other than to quell your quest for whatever it is you are chasing with this insane 3DMark obsession.

jeesh, maybe i shouldn't do this, cause if you start getting good clockage, who knows what it will spawn??

Relax, it's nothing worse than what others have done. Seeing how the moderators haven't taken any action against anyone in the past other than locking/deleting threads, I seriously doubt he will get banned. Plus, Baldy has the best "clockage" of anyone here at Sharky so that has to be the most important factor in determining whether or not he gets banned. :cool:

edit: What ever happened to ditto on the mucho??? That was my absolute favorite line ever when looking through sigs.

I didn't think it was something to ban him over, just thought it was wierd...

C'mon you have to admit, Tbird does seem to be learing, albeit slowly. After all, he finally did order a Tbred, even if he is getting it from eBay, it's definitely going to be a big improvment over what he's got right now, and will allow him to at least explore the potential of his mobo. :)

wow not bad, but how far does she go on air and stock voltage? what about 2 volts or around that? xp2800s come 2.2GHz stock too. Just out of curousity, how much do you value that one?

not bad, its an AHUIB right? what voltage did she need and on what cooling? I dont want to run her at like 2+ volts for 2.3GHz though. 2GHz on 1.7 volts with stock cooling isnt too bad, 2.2GHz is even nicer. Do you guarantee that overclock on a kt400 mobo, like if I get it and it wont do at least 2.2GHz?

heh but the first pally I got, the xp1700, I dont think tbred B's existed either and I still had a kt266 mobo. The the agoia pally I got cost me $30 and it was for a good cause too, also supposedly the agoia cores overclock to like 1.8GHz or very close to what tbreds overclock. I knew it was locked but was expecting 166fsb for 1.74GHz min but guess I didnt get a champ. He was supprised too and gave me suggestions but I already raised the voltage to 2 and no go. I can resell that for $30 easy when and if I want to so I lose nothing but get the fun of overclocking, ya know. Ill see how far that xp1700 goes and since its unlocked ill experment with all settings as well, ill try like 200fsb times 7 for 1.4GHz then times 8 for 1.6 and see how much +200 MHz on same fsb helps because I believe a tbred at 1.8GHz is very close to one at 2.2GHz in games and 3dmark, cause it doesnt scale linear for sure, going from 1GHz tbird to 1.6GHz pally sure as heck didnt scale linear, not even close either. 60% more clock speed for a 36% increase in fps in quake3 at 640x480. 1.8 to 2.4GHz is 33% more clock speed, this could get me like another 20% in games. I remember back when I had a 366 at 550 celeron I was pratically at the top of the line even though they had pentium 3's to 733MHz, no game needed more than 200MHz either. every computer I bought was near top of the line. yes I know the fastest amd cpu out is a barton xp3200 running at 2.2GHz I think. a tbird at 2.2GHz would be like 85% of that performance LOL

heh thanks so much :) I know 3dmark isnt everything again, but splintercell that im getting, a few extra fps never hurt, theres no such thing as too many fps. ah well im gonna also PM you this just in case this thread dies

When someone is wrong they normally do not know it. 2 steps generally must be taken. Prove the person why they are wrong and show them the right. You forget to explain why the person is wrong and then that lengthens the convo.

So i'll make it simple:
Other commented on what you did bldegle2 with somewhat passive opinions. Here's the more active. Your thread: PATHETIC. You will have to explain its purpose to me. If you please can, explain how I may be wrong and this thread may actually have some value? Or am I right that it is a worthless and pathetic thread?

My purpose of this reply: have at least a minue understanding of what convinced you write this thread. You're that bored that you attempt to humiliate others publibly for no true reason?

the 2800+ did like 2.5 on air, but for your purposes, given your limitation on the volts, certainly a bit less, prolly 2.3/2.4.

the 2100+ has never been on air, only the prome. i do know that it ran over 2.0+ on 1.7 vre on the NF7-S.

i even bought an MP 2000+ back when, just to get unlockage without the hassle.

even with the unlockage, hitting 200 FSB with all of your components, and only the 1/5 divider may very well expose these other components because of the higher values on the PCI/AGP bus, memory and vid card for sure will get tested, nic in some cases, USB in others.

and even with that same video card, your 3DMark scores will definately climb due the the added bandwidth the higher bus is a pumping.

i found that 185 to 195 FSB was the sweet spot, more and i would experience problems with the USB and NIC (fadeouts, recycle, reboot, annoying). your mileage may vary.

There are 3-7 that I know about that were banned from here in the past! Some were not to long ago! LOL!
