Help with monitor decision....
I am ready to upgrade to a larger screen size, but am not sure which way to go. I have a Samtron 17" Dynaflat CRT which I am happy with as far as image quality. (less than a year old) I believe Samtron monitors are made by Samsung (correct me if I'm wrong) so are of good quality. I can upgrade to a Samtron 98BDF 19" Dyna Flat for $185 new @ the local Sam's Club. OR....I could get a 20"-21" used trinitron at Merkortech for just a little more, but am unsure of buying used monitors and on top of that possible damage in shipment. I would like to have the larger screen to be sure, but am not sure if it's worth the risk. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks...

They're completely separate companies that just happen to have similar names.

actually, that's not true at all...they're just about one and the same, unless something has happened in the last year. last year i picked up a 17" samtron flat screen at circuit city because it ws on sale, and all the paperwork inside the box said samsung not samtron. the monitor i purchased is identical in every way to my mom's samsung 17" flat screen, except the badging on the case.
