Windows XP is NOT just 2000 dressed up. They are similar at the core, yes, (XP is based on the NT kernel) but XP is by no means a skinned 2000.
XP is a dressed up version of 2k. There is no fundamental difference between the two except that XP has a lot more stuff integrated into it (drivers etc). I like 2k better because it has all the fat trimmed off ;).
actually, no, there's a good number of kernel improvements in WinXP, and once you get all the candy graphical improvements out of the way, it's actually a bit faster than Win2k (ask UA549).
not to mention the slightly improved legacy app support.
how do i clean up xp pro?

This may be ture but not many ppl tweak there OS greatly. And This is why I say its about the same. Its funny you say B/C i have better luck getting older progies to work on win2k VS XP;)Quote:
