Lighting Effects

I currently have 2x blue LED fans, and while they look alright, they just aren't doing much for lighting. I wanna get 2 cold cathodes, but I don't wanna go with one single colour, nor do I want to use a bunch of colours. I wanna create a sort of transition with the lighting.

If you look at the Lux Design splash page, you'll see that the case's lighting makes a sort of transition from red to blue (with purple being in the middle). I was wondering how this is acheived?

Would two red-blue cold cathodes be placed vertically? Or would one red cold cathode and one blue cold cathode be placed horizontally? I'm considering doing something similar to this, but with blue & green lighting instead. How do you guys think that would look?

The transistion will take care of itself. As long as there are surfaces that both lights can reach then mounting them at opposite ends of the case will achieve a similar effect. I'd prefer to use lighting that combines to make a third pronounced transitional color.. blue / green won't really offer that.

Yeah, if you want that purple glow in the middle, you're gonna have to go with red and blue. They simply have red on the bottom and blue up top:)

Ah I see. What about and blue cathode at the bottom, then a white cathode at the top? That would create a sort of baby blue in the middle. Or maybe a blue cathode at the bottom, and a yellow cathode at the top, creating a greenish colour in the middle?

That would be cool.. Maybe you can buy a few colors and return the ones you don't want.

Unlike paints, the primary colors in light is blue red and green (not blue, red and yellow).....so u CAN use blue and green, and the middle should be cyan which is sorta like a light blue....

Hmm, cyan in the middle would look kind of nice. But what colour would be visible in the middle if I used a blue cold cathode in combination with a white one? I really want to use a white chathode, as I haven't seen much other people using them.

One thing that kind of shocked me was how much light a 12" CC throws. I actually used black electricians tape on each end to cut it down to about 10". If you've a mid or mini-tower, two 8" CCs would be plenty light.
