it might very well have a lower refresh rate, have you checked?
You're going to notice a low refresh rate more if you're not looking directly at the monitor. For minimal annoyance, you're probably going to want to keep your secondary monitor set to a resolution it can do 85Hz at.
19" 1600*1200 @ 75Hz
15" 1024*8xx @60hz
should i leave the 15" at 80Hz ?
in the viewsonic monitor the control panel still mentions 75Hz
From what i understand to stop most noticble flickers you want to keep it at or above 72ish.
60Hz gives me headaches.
I guess it depends on your eyes. 75Hz bothers me a little, but 85Hz doesn't. I believe that 85Hz is the standard definition of "flicker-free", although some advertisers will say 75 is.
No. I work 10hrs per day with 4-18" flat panels in my face.
True...but since LCDs don't refresh in the normal sense, you don't have the same eyestrain issues you do on CRTs.Quote:

Eye strain eh?
Will CRT's give a guy bad eyes? Because I dont want that... lol
i apologize, i should have clarified better
the flick comes from the 19" (bottom left) the 15" is to the left of the 19".
when i began using dual monitor i had a different desk that had a wooden divider in the middle, so maybe the wood didn't permit interference between the monitors. Now i'm in a flat desk
Try not to have the monitor cases parallel to each other. They may help somewhat. Long term you'll probably have to degauss more often but not that much more than now if you keep your monitors on all the time. Wood shouldn't have any effect on the interference either. Distance will help.
Not really. The higher the refresh rate, the less the eyestrain- that is, a monitor running at 100hz will be easier on the eyes than one running 60hz. LCDs are better on the eyes...but unless you're putting in more than 8 hours a day or so, it shouldn't really be an issue.Quote:

Note that if you're getting headaches from staring at CRTs all day, try increasing the refresh rate. If you still get them, even at 85-100hz, you might want to try an LCD.
