hmm the defragger that comes with windows takes me forever does any1 use a different one if so which one?
The defrag utility built into Windows 2000 & XP is a stripped-down version of Executive Software's Diskeeper. The full version of Diskeeper is a great defrag program. (I haven't clocked it against the built-in Windows version, so I don't know how they compare speed-wise.)
As an ex-alpha tester for Executive Software I can say the defrag engine is the same in the free versions and cost versions. The real differences between the versions are the convenience features such as central defrag control via network, scheduling, etc.
I use Diskeeper 7 and the one that comes with Norton systemworks. Both are nice...
I use Diskeeper 7 and it is great for defragging. It's much faster than the Windows one.
That's the difference between the Diskeeper 6 engine and the Diskeeper 7 engine.Quote:
