What could have make my comp self boot?

Well, this is rather strange. I had this thing happened a couple months ago.
The strang thing is my computer just rebooted by itself.

I was using my MS optical mouse, The mouse is on Serial port and I was just browsing sharky extreme and using the wheel.
I turned the wheel and all of a sudden my comp just restarted.

This does not happen very often is very rare, but I would like to ask you guys...

What could have caused my comp to reboot like that?

It's not heat because its freezing here, and I have 2 case fans and a double whammy HSF at 7k RPM.

That could happen for any number of reasons: bad RAM, bad mobo, bad CPU. I have my Win2K box setup to reboot if it encounters a problem. My friend was using the ASUS mobo monitoring software, and it would reboot spontaneously b/c it said his temps were jumping from 50C to 80C in less than a second, which is really impossible, so you may want to try turning off any software like that.

For clarification, I think the optical mouse only goes in the PS/2 and USB ports, not serial, that is waaay old. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/6.gif

Ok, I didn't have any monitoring software running at that moment.
But this problem happens during I'm browsing and using the wheel.
some wacky AMD windows problem?

And I just played about 8 hours of TFC , and there was no problem with the comp.
