Please don't start a flame war, but it looks to me that pretty much every game that the FX5900Ultra has an advantage in is a result of cheating! Has anyone heard about any obvious Quake III cheats? If I recall correctly, the FX5900Ultra was way ahead of the R9800Pro in Quake III in Anandtech's review?

In my opinion, they can make all the app-specific mod they want as long as I get great performance.
And still get decent perf. on non-app-specific ones.
The modifications themselves aren't the issue. The issue is that nVidia is sacrificing AF image quality for performance.Quote:

For future reference, if anyone even thinks about posting another thread about these matters, don't. They accomplish nothing but flamewars.
That link is hardly conclusive. Besides, WHO THE HELL CARES? I've grown tired of all of this stuff. Seems like every other day there is a new thread about Nvidia cheating. Its just a fact I've grown to accept.

It is wrong...it is stupid...but I don't give a damn as long as the card plays MY games at good FPS and good quality. And that's the bottom line to ANY consumer.

I said that long ago during the flame wars(sounds like a movie title hehehe) These thread are beyond old....The original ones were BS also...But some folks wanted to drag it through the dirt like it was going to amount to something. Like I said in an earlier post in a different thread, this topic is not going to die, unfortunately.:( While benchmarking with 3dmark can be a good way to check the stability of your rig, it has become seriously apparent, that it is not a good way to choose a video card. We just will have to depend on word of mouth from ordinary users in forums that can be trusted, on how well the cards perform.
Heres what I got to say:
nVidia can take their FX5900U and shove it up their A.S.S
ATI can take their R9800Pro and shove it up their A.S.S

Well, that was a limitation of hardware not software. WE KNOW that the FX5900Ultra is capable of more in UT2K3 but they deliberately lower their AF image quality. People, is this not a 3dMark cheat. This is an in game cheat. Why is no one interested?Quote:

I am not so sure that were not interested, but that the topic is pretty much pointless. People will buy NVidia or ATI, whichever they prefer, but it is a shame when companies do things underhandedly to make themselves look better. But if you check out the forums then you already know, video card manufacturers are not the only guilty ones. Motherboard makers have been caught doing the same thing, and there are a lot of off topic manufacturers that do the same thing. It is our society to get the most money no matter what it takes, whether it is cheating the small or large consumers doesn't seem to matter.Quote:
