Not sure which forum to put this in, but does anyone know where I can get a dirt cheap account that I can telnet into? I'm looking for basic mail support and that's it and the ability to telnet.
Most places only offer this through a dialup service which I do not need.
If you have your own network access, there are FreeNets located in many countries with telnet mail access. Just Google up a FreeNet list. Most also provide for dial access. They are quite handy if you travel.
A lot of hosts don't like giving telnet access because it's insecure. Some give shell access upon request, but some only do it with a driver license faxed to them.
Also, for some hosts they'd rather not have that security risk for someone paying for something that is "dirt cheap."
