keyboard trouble
I'm having some performance problems in games that are coming from a rather unusual source...my keyboard! It seems that whenever I hold down the W,A,S,D keys in games, for example, the frame rates get very jittery. Actually, the frame rates don't drop at all, but the performance gets very choppy for some reason. It's not a problem with the video card or processor because 3d mark scores are normal; the problems arise whenever I hold down keys on the keyboard. You see, I think it has something to do with repeat rate of keys. Like, when you're typing in a word document and you hold down a certain key and it will continuously type that key at a certain rate. For some reason, that function is carrying over to games now. So when walking in a game, it's like the walk function is being repeatedly pressed, instead of a smooth, continuous reaction. So it feels as if the frame rates are very jittery. This doesn't happen when I use the arrow keys though; I guess because they don't have anything to do with "typing." Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Should I buy a new keyboard?

Hey, can you press more than three keys at once and have them register? For example, I play Vice City on PC, if you want to do a burnout on a bike with tireslides and view it from the left or right side, you'll have to hold keys for forward, front brake, the sliding keys left or right and the view from left or right keys. My keyboard doesn't register more than three keys (So I wont be able to view the burnout from the left or right), while it doesn't lock up in the game, i've had Windows pause for a bit when pressing three or more keys.

no, i don't have that problem; however, that did happen with my old computer on a Hewlett Packard keyboard.
