Google.com keeps sending me to google but in spanish

I want www.google.com to open with english text not spanish :mad: :mad: , I suppose it automatically detects my location and displays everything in spanish. If I go to preferences and select "display text in english" or even by selecting "google.com in english" it still appears in spanish. It does mention that maybe I don't have cookies enables, of course I do. There is even a link

notice that it says google.com.mx, and that text is displayed in english

Maybe it's because you're in Mexico and they speak spanish there.

but I want it in english :(

I did it once, but hasn't worked anymore. The only thing I did was change the perferences, but now even if I save my perferences, it's still in spanish

Try www.google.ca

clear your cookies? you might also try another browser, see what happens.

tried 10min ago Opera 6.01, netscape 4.76 and still the same thing

You can also go here manually set it to display things in english.

...which is the page you get if you click the "preferences" link next to the search bar on the main page.

did you just change the google settings?

I always selected English text to be displayed in the preferences, but even if I click SAVE, it doesn't work

terry: everything in my computer is in english ;), there is no configuration or software in spanish, when installing windows, I select the region of the US that is central time, instead of Monterrey/Mexico City

I don't get the 'eh' part


PS: I have no hate toward my primary language (spanish), but when it comes to anything related to computers I perfer english

You could always use a proxy server thats located in the US, and when you access Google, it will pick up the proxy's domain instead of yours, giving you everything in English.
