Cooling problems, help!!!

Well I was hoping when I got my new case that my temps would go down, but they went UP! I just got my antec 1000amg and my temps went from 41 idle to about 44-45 (not OC at the moment either) :( :( :(

I have the two fans in the back as exhaust, window fan intake, and front fan intake....Am I doing something wrong here? I know generally you want more exhaust than intake, so should I make the window fan exhaust??

My HS and Fan specs are below and I think they should be more than adequite for the job. Room temps stay around 72 or so.

When you put everything into the new case did you take the heatsink off? Might have jostled around or something in transit. I think your temps are a little high.

I know my temps are high! I was pretty carefull when I transferred my mobo into the new case about not bumping the HSF. If I had accidently bumped my heatsink make my temps that bad? I have AS ceramique, would that have to reset if it was jolted slightly?

Probably not.

Does that case have room for another intake fan in bottom front? If so, put one in there.

For the time being, turn the window fan around to exhaust. It never hurts to experiment.

Or, cut a blowhole in the top of the case.

I have room for a hard drive fan in the front, but I dont know if that will do any good. As far as putting a blow hole in the top, I don't know if im ready to cut up my new case just yet.....When my temps where lower my system was in my old case, but I had the top off and the case was open. Shouldn't an enclosed case with good airflow give me better temps???

Yes. Is that Smart Fan 2 running at full speed? I'd reseat the heatsink and reapply the Ceramique. How is that stuff to apply, BTW? Compared to AS3 to be specific.:) I would move that side-panel intake and make it an intake in the front.

well, i just lapped my sk-7 like 4 days ago and put a fresh coat of as ceramique. I have never used as3 so I couldnt compare it, but it seems like pretty heavy stuff (very dense). After all that my temps went down by like 3 degrees, but all for not since they are back up again. I already have my front intake fan installed, and the only other fan I could put up front would be a hdd fan. As far as my smartfan, I did have it running at 4000rpm for noise reasons, but I have it at max right now. The only thing I can think of is my PSU. Its one of the few things I didnt upgrade last time. It doesnt have a fan in the back, just one on the bottom. However, it is higher up from my mobo now in my new case compared to my old one so I would think if anything it would give me better temps. I plan on upgrading that too as soon as I get some cash for an antec or equivilent PSU. Any other ideas (that don't include hacking up my pretty new case)?
