I am a tabbed browsing junkie...

There, I said it. I'm so hooked on Mozilla and tabbed browsing it's not funny. I've always bounced around between IE and Mozilla but now I won't touch IE unless I absolutely have to.

One web site I use at work needs IE because the creator absolutely sucks at web development, and on top of the seemingly endless pile of mistakes also cannot code for a non-IE browser. Aside from that one web site, I'm Mozilla and tabs all the way.

Anyone else get hooked too? I used IE for ages and ages, now it's making my skin crawl...

Both Avant and myIE2, which use the IE engine, have tabs and tons more. Check them out if you want way more features over what comes with ie, for free.

Mozilla Tabbed Addict right here! Been using it for months now and I hate having to use another browser. I find myself always wanting to 'open new tab' instead of 'open new window' and when I can't I get angry. Tabs just make browsing so much easier. I've got all my Tech sites, Web Comics, Game Sites, and Forums all seperately tabbed so I can just go down the line and open up all the ones I want. The only problem I have with Mozilla is that it takes 5 times longer to open than IE, but that's a small one.

Seriously, there is no going back now.

I love tabbed browsing. Since I started using Mozilla, IE has become just a lost memory. Now I guess you could say I'm an Opera tabbed browsing junkie. You should give Opera a try as well.

It does... by a fair bit, too. I have my theories, though. I think a lot of IE components start up with the OS, which will of course speed it up. The stronger (IMO) theory, is the Mozilla Sweetness Factor. Mozilla is so damn sweet that it needs to 'prep' you for a minute before the actual experience. All that sweet at once could be very traumatic.

Maybe it's just in my head, but it also seems much more responsive than IE. It makes the wait a little easier to bear.

I use Opera for testing, but as a regular browser I don't like having ads. Unless there were some great reason to move over, Mozilla is definitely working out for me. Either way, atleast we have all been enlightened to the power of tabs. :D

tabs are the best. middle click, open new tab - awesome. ( built in pop up blocker is also badass. :D ) you just know MS is going to copy the tab feature (as they always do) in their next browser. they'll give it some shmancy new name and call it "MS innovation." :p

as for the speed, mozilla's a bit slower starting up, but not 5 times! also you can select an option somewhere to keep moz resident in memory like IE is, so it starts faster. once it's started once though, it seems to open regularly fast after that, so i've never seen much use for that feature personally. ( ymmv. :) )

I've been using Netcaptor for the past few years...always will be a tabbed junkie.

I don't mind the ads. Frankly, I forgot they were even there until you mentioned it. As far as Opera v. Mozilla, Opera just feels better overall to me. But that's just me I guess. And like you said, we've all been enlightened to tabbed browsing, which is all Opera does unless I haven't figured out how to open another page instead of a tab yet.

Tabs are great. Try Mozilla Firebird if you have speed issues with Mozilla. I've been using Firebird for a few releases and love it. There are a couple bugs that anger me but patches have been submitted and will hopefully be incorporated into the next release.

Is the current Mozilla supposed to be discontinued eventually and replaced with Mozilla Firebird or what?

I don't get it. The favorites file is only one extra click and it doesn't clutter up the top of my browser window. I like to have the smallest bar possible showing so it seems from this pic anyway Im better off staying with what I have.

Sure can be an inexpensive hobby some days can't it? Im spending the whole day with stuff I downloaded for free.

you're going to make a new bookmark for every link you open? :eek: that's more than an extra click, that's more like 2 or 3 clicks, plus another click to open the bookmark when you want it, plus the navigation time, then more navigation and clicks to delete it when you're done.

i guess you could make a "this session" favorites folder, and dump everything in there, but that's kind of ridiculous. seems to me you have the wrong idea of what tabbed browsing does. ;)

I do. What exactly is it? Are we talking about the option I see here on the Avant browser where you can open all the favorites in one folder?

Addendum: Ah. I think I see. Do you mean being able to open up links in seperate windows automatically minized in the tray? What does that have to do with the favorites files though?

While we're on the subject of tabbed browsing (yes I'm addicted :D). Do anyone of you know a way to make Mozilla (using 1.5 beta) open a new tab when you type an address in the address bar? I know Avant browser does it, but I stopped using it (seemed to be hogging all of my network bandwidth, but thats another thread). I tried looking through all of Mozillas options, but can't find a setting like this anywhere.
