My Ati 9500pro started giving a weird picture quality , so i sent it back for a refund. Since i cant find 9500pro anymore. What shall i buy now?
I heard that 9600 pro is way slower than than 9500pro, escipesially when AA , AF is considered. and i heard that new GPU's from ATI are just on the way .
ti4200 if you want to spend $80 or 9800 non pro for $250+ your call :)
Rather than going on what you've heard, why not read some reviews?

What ever way you deceide don't get a DX8 card as all the new games coming out will be DX9. Make sure whatever way you go that you buy a DX9 card.

Hmmm if I were you man I'd bite the bullet and get the 9600 pro, or a 9700 np.
Never move backwards get a 9700np or 9800np.

Another Tyan 9600 pro showing the performance to be quite close, and I didn't say the 9600 pro was faster than the 9500 pro, I said it wasn't 'way slower' If you look further you can find a comparison of the 9500 pro and 9600 pro both overclocked, and again there's not much difference.

You do know u have $$$$$$ options.....if you want to go low $$$ and don't care about AA/AF (which I doubt cuz u has a 9500P) then you can go Ti4200. Then 9600Pro for $150 or so, 9700np for $215 or so, or the recently-famous '9800 for $249'. The 5600Ultra may fit somewhere in there, too, id u want nVidia.
A 9700NP is the way to go! 9800NP, only IF you can swing it ;) :DQuote:

when they do come out...I doubt there will be a significant reduction in prices for current ati cards since they are so low already...unless you're looking to buy the radeon 9900 when it comes out...then go right ahread :cool:
The 9700np had actually gone UP since I'd bought mine maybe 3 mos. or so ago - from $198 to $219 (GameVE.). I can't see the 9800 going down much more than it is now - if it goes down, say, $25, it'll hardly be more than a 9600Pro!!!!Quote:

What's the diff between 9700 Pro and 9700 np?
Only clock speed, 324/310 for the Pro, and 276/270 for the np.
