Thats a pretty good price, itll be like a ti500 with dx9, aa/af and quad the ram :) slower than a 9600 pro though and defenetely slower than a ti4200. ah well have him carefully open the box, overclock her(lemmie know how it clocks) and run games and 3dmark2001, good luck!
I don´t know if it was worth the money, but if i wanted a 5600 i would have gone for the prolink from newegg:

ummm... i dunno where you are getting your information, but in actuality the 5600 is about on level with a ti4600

More like the 4200 w/o the eyecandy on (the ultra version is the one that is more like a 4600 w/o the eyecandy ;) )
Ohh and when speaking to Tbird i am pretty sure that he is only referring to 3DMark 2001 performance, that is the only thing he cares for ;)

no, even in games, everything the ti4200 will eat it across the board except with aa/af. My little ti500 could probably match that thing in 3dmark. Still, if he loves aa/af he will eat my ti4200, but however he wont be able to run 1600x1200 reguardless in newer games :(

Hey thunderbird stop using 3dmark as your only comparsion. When doing real world testing, there are many factors. Like UT2k3 which is very very cpu dependent. Then there are games like Q3 which benfit from faster memory throught-put and higher MHZ. Overall, everyone agrees here that the 5600non-ultra is equal to a 4200-460(Depending on the app)And We need to wait for ture Direct X9 games to come and next gen engines to see if more power comes out of the FXline vs there counterparts from the previos generation of cards. I am sick of all this ******** talking about 3dmark this 3dmark that. Enought, its cool, but play a ****ing game once in a while. Enjoy that hardware you have:D
The FX line of cards' gonna suck at games using PS2.0 (DX9 function), there is a thread on this in this section. ;) As to the 2nd point you've raised, I think we sometimes lose our heads whenever we benchmark, God knows I've done so, BUT now my sanity's back and I'm enjoying games to the fullest (THIS is the REAL reason why I got my rigs - GAMING GOODNESS!!!:D ) I'm 'cured' of the 3D Mark bug (for now for now anyway ;) ) BUT I'm sure when the bug bites again I'll be a 3D benchmark fanatic all over again.:( :DQuote:
