off topic

I joined after the off topic was deleted and heard that it was deleted due to abuse. However, I have been curious as to what happened that made it be closed. I realize that sharky wants to keep the forums to a site specific manner. However, off topic forums are nice to have....anyway if you dont want to write what happened on in this thread can you pm me? Thanks!

also, what if(i know you said it will never happen...) but what if you made a post requirement to be allowed to post in the off topic forum. you know how you have a post requirement for the avatars, well- maybe that would work for the off topic forum as well? i dont know what the reason for shutting it down was so i am not sure if that will help any. Anyway- just curious. Thanks!

This isn't directed to anyone, but the mods say the OT forum won't be back, so no more requests ok?

The way I see it... Is that Off Topic is just not allowed here.. I know I comment a lot of times with Off Topic subjects... But you cannot be just a 100% pure computer forum :) We are human and humans love to gossip :D

I have seen stictly OT threads be deleted/locked, but I dont see (often) OT in a legit thread being locked/deleted unless it was flaming and seriously OT :)

We are on a leash, but its not held that tightly :)

yeah, i guess i really wasnt asking for an off topic forum to be opened (i have read the sticky at top) i was just curious as to why it isnt allowed...thanks for the replys though.
