im only on the third level.. taking my time enjoying the scenery...
i remember this one really cool part... on this one level, there was a flock of birds flying reallllly high in the sky.. they looked like dots... i pulled out the sniper rifle and zoomed in and say a perfectly modeled bird and shot it.. to my surprise it died and fell!
the storyline is kinda bogus and so is the voice acting/script.... but what can ya expect outta a fps thats not made by valve
the weapons are realllly cool.... i love the flamethrower and the acid grenades
so far.. i think this game is a fun and extremely pretty game.... most games, yu keep playing cause you want to know what happens next... in this game you keep playing cause you want to see how pretty the next level is :o

Hey I thought Unreal 2 was awesome. It wasn't that long, but long enough to drool for a while and have some fun wreaking havoc. The graphics are stunning, they just get crazier as you progress too. I would love to make some new levels for it, but the editor is crazy and I don't have a lot of time :(
-
It was short, the voice acting was bad, but I did enjoy the game and graphics. I just wished I could have enjoyed the graphics more. My poor video card just didn't have enough oomph to turn on much eye candy and still have playable frame rates. Even when I did get playable frame rates for the most part, still ran into a few spots that really bogged it down.
And yes, the flame thrower is cool. I saw your screenshot there where you were cooking those little spider things.

thanks to you i now know what game i wanna buy next ;)

I thought the graphics were amazing, the storyline was so-so.. But the ending sucked :( There was this part in the game that scared the poop out of me... When I was in the elevator...
But sadly the game was real short :(

Thank god I'm on DSL or that would've been murder for me. But yeah the game was pretty and all but the story and voice/script wasn't all that great. I never got to finish it because I borrowed the game from a friend. I think I got about 1/2 way and just stopped playing.

I was contemplating picking this game up for $30 when I was picking up some 4 to 3 pin connectors...instead I noticed "the thing" sitting there for $10 and I couldn't resist...going to install tonight and have some fun scary action :)

EEEEWWWW "The Thing" I really didnt like it.. Maybe it is because I only played it for about 30 minutes and died in the freezing cold since I couldnt find a key or the way in or whatnot... :(

Ran like CRAP on my P3 1Ghz, Geforce 2 GTS 64MB. Had to turned everthing to low and play at 800x600. Only got 20fps.:(
Gotta get a new system.:)

I dont think Unreal II ran like crap on my GF4 4400.. It ran rather well, but since I dont use AA/AF; the performace wasnt a big hit.. I averaged 30-40fps with very little dips...
I played it at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 I forget... With most if not everything enabled... Except AA/AF
