Strange thing happened after low level format and installing xp pro

I was having whierd problems with my computer..the rebooting thing but couldnt find blaster anywhere. Finally I said the h with it and used the maxtor program ran test and went ahead and did a low level format with it. BTW if you do this plan on a nap or something because were talking like 5 hrs on a 80 gig. Anyhow I did the low level and then I installed xp pro. Although I do not use fat32 I noticed that xp pro while installing did not offer the option for fat32 like it always does only ntfs...any ideas why?

Thanks for moving this btw..thought about it after I did it. But any way what I am getting at I used to get four options on a fresh xp install...I think it was fat32,fat32quick, ntfs, and ntfs quick. After that low level format(used the maxtor software) I only got the ntfs options no fat32 when Istarted the xp instal. Just strange I didnt get the option for fat32 for the first time in I dont know how many fresh installs. Dunno maybe something to do with using the maxtor software to reformat my drive or maybe its because I did the low level format completely wiping the drive which formatted it nfts and then installed xp which formatted it again. Just never happened before thats all.

If the partition you're installing onto is larger than 32 GB, you won't be given the option to use FAT32. Because FAT32's cluster sizes start getting huge at that partition size, Microsoft crippled the formatting ability of Windows (starting with 2000) so that you'll be forced to use NTFS on larger partitions.

come to think of it I think I always had a 30 gig partition before so thats probably what it is.
